With the influx of fitness coaches and workout videos, it would seem that working out is now so intense and too much work. The good news is that getting fit can be fun. We’ve identified 7 easy ways you can exercise without thinking you are working out.
If you are not really into sporting activities, then dancing is a great option. There are different types of dance moves, so you can easily fit into one. The thing with dancing is you don’t need to have a partner or talent. All you need to do is just move your body like you just don’t care.
2) Active meeting – Workout with a colleague while discussing/meeting
You don’t have to sit behind the desk for all your meetings. You could have a meeting at the gym with a colleague as you discuss work-related matters. Leave your desk every once in a while. Not only is this good for your physical health, but it is also good for your mental health and work environment.
3) Clean your house for 1hr+
You can make your house chores a convenient exercise time. House cleaning is a superb way to burn some calories. Clean up your room and that of the kids as much as you can. Vacuuming the house is also a great way to exercise conveniently. Other things you can easily do include doing the dishes rather than using the dishwasher, mowing the lawn, and so on.
4) Play with your kids for 1hr
Have kids? Then have some fun with them in and around the house. Rolling around in the backyard with them or roughhousing are all great forms of exercise. The great thing about playing with your kids is that it gives you that young feeling.
5) Take stairs throughout the day
If you have stairs in your apartment or workplace, then you already have access to one of the easiest means of exercise. Using stirs is very effective. Not only does it help you burn calories, but it is also an excellent workout for your legs. As little as 5 minutes of stairs movement can help you burn close to 50 calories. For the ladies, climbing stairs is an easy workout for your butt.
6) Go for a walk/walk while you prep for your day
Walking is one of the easiest forms of exercise. It is convenient and can be done anywhere. Are you doing your makeup in the morning? Take a couple of steps. Are you answering a phone call? Walk. It is so easy and efficient. As little as 5 minutes walk can help you burn between 10 to 20 calories depending on your pace. So you can decide to speed it up or go slowly. Whatsoever you decide to do, you are bound to get results.
7) Squat + Push Up challenge throughout the day – 200reps each/day
There is nothing like too many press-ups and squats. The push-up is often overlooked, but it does a fine job of working your arms and chest. You can challenge yourself to do around 10 to 200 push up daily. You don’t need any special equipment, just get into position, and work it. On the other side of the spectrum, the squat is excellent for the ankle, hip, thigh, and legs. We subconsciously squat when we sit or use the toilet. Make it a part of your daily routine, and you will see the difference in your body in no time.
Overall, just be creative, and see the whole thing as fun. While exercising can be tough and intense, you can make it fun and enjoyable.
